Circuit Courts


The following is a list of Circuit Courts in the State of Florida listed by judicial circuit. A Circuit Court in Florida is a court that handles cases charging Defendants with Felonies, Juvenile Offenses, or Civil Matters where the amount of money in controversy is above $15,000.00. Within each Circuit are also County Courts that are responsible for handling criminal misdemeanor offenses, traffic offenses both criminal and non-criminal, and civil cases where the amount in controversy is less than $15,000.00.

District Courts of Appeal


Appellate Courts are necessary for the purpose of Judicial Review (See Marbury V. Madison). After a case is heard and a verdict or decision has been rendered by a Circuit Court, all issues that the party opting for appeal wish to be heard must be argued in front of the District Court of Appeals for that specific region.

The Supreme Court is the highest court in the State of Florida. This court is responsible for handling cases which qualify for automatic review by the Supreme Court in addition to hearing those appeals which have been certified as a question of great importance to the State of Florida.
